ROME: Talk of bond "spreads" in Italy has inspired a nickname for the grandson of PM Mario Monti, pictured.
The youngster's classmates have bestowed on him the nickname "Spread". The financial term refers to the risk premium investors demand to hold Italian bonds rather than their safer German equivalents.
