DUBAI: Iranian President-elect Hassan Rouhani said yesterday it was laughable for Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to say Tehran was getting close to Israel's "red line" over its nuclear programme and derided the Jewish state's ability to strike Iran.
The election of Rouhani led to hopes of progress in the decade-old nuclear dispute. Tehran says it wants to generate electricity and aid medical research.
