BELGRADE:
Serbia's centre-right Progressive Party has attempted to cement its grip on power for the next four years in a snap election, pledging an economic overhaul of the ex-Yugoslav republic as it embarks on talks to join the European Union. Polls suggest the party may win more than 40% of the vote, a haul unprecedented since Serbia ousted Slobodan Milosevic.
