Thousands mourn former king

PHNOM PENH: Tens of thousands of people poured into Cambodia's capital to witness the procession of the body of flamboyant former king Norodom Sihanouk.

Mourners in white lined the six-mile route to welcome the body of Mr Sihanouk, who died aged 89 of heart failure in Beijing, his home since abdicating eight years ago.

Sihanouk reigned through Cambodia's liberation from French colonialism to the horrors of the Khmer Rouge's "killing fields" revolution.
