Typhoon Bopha toll tops 600

cateel: A view of the coastal town of Cateel that was devastated at the height of Typhoon Bopha in Davao Oriental in the southern Philippines.

The death toll from the typhoon, which hit on Tuesday last week, currently stands at 647 with damage to crops estimated to run into billions of pounds.

The storm wiped out about 90% of three coastal towns in Davao Oriental province and buried an entire town in neighbouring Compostela Valley province under mud.
