VATICAN CITY: The Vatican has pledged never to stop fighting attempts to "erase" the role of heterosexual marriage, which it called it "an achievement of civilisation".
Reacting to strong gains for gay marriage in the US and Europe, Vatican media weighed in for a second day with forceful editorials restating the Roman Catholic Church's unequivocal opposition.
