Women take Afghan army oath


Female officers from the Afghan National Army (ANA) take their oath of enlistment during a graduation ceremony at the Kabul Military Training Centre yesterday. The ANA is the main branch of the Afghan armed forces, which is responsible for ground warfare. It is heavily assisted by the United States and Nato and is divided into six regional corps.
