John Bercow, MP for Buckingham, is the new Speaker of the House of Commons: exciting, isn't it? Or rather, let's say interesting. For one thing, Michael Martin's successor takes up his ancient post promising to "implement an agenda for reform, for renewal, for revitalisation and for the reassertion of the core values of this great institution".
