Biography

Hannah Miley’s Olympic debut was as a teenager in Beijing when her best place was sixth in the 400m Individual Medley. Since then her progress on the international circuit has been rapid and she is one of British Swimming’s best medal hopes for 2012. In the last two years, coached by her dad, she has claimed Commonwealth gold in the 400m individual medley, the same prize in the European championships, and silver in the world championships and, just as importantly, she has beaten all of her main rivals on the global stage.

Quote
It's not just about the medal, but about taking part, about enjoying it, and doing the best I possibly can. Because this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and, however much you want to do well, it would be a shame if you lost sight of what the Olympics are supposed to be about in the first place. I swim because I love swimming. I do. And to have the chance to swim in front of your home crowd is just incredibly exciting..
