Who in Saudi Arabia benefits from the country's pre-eminence in oil production? Certainly not the ordinary citizen. The parallel situation in Scotland is that almost no benefit will accrue to the citizens of the country, while big business will gain huge, subsidised profit from wind farms. All we will get is a landscape blighted by these uneconomic monstrosities and their associated transmission lines.
