In your article "Scots Heathrow flights axed" you missed a key fact (June 28).

British Airways (BA) is increasing the number of flights and the total number of seats to Scotland, but you are right to report that we are not replacing every BMI flight. As part of the deal to buy BMI, BA offered up 12 daily Heathrow slots, seven of which are specifically available to other airlines who want to operate flights from Edinburgh and Aberdeen to Heathrow. Virgin said it would take up these slots and fly wing tip to wing tip with BA but as yet we have not seen an announcement about when this will happen.

We look forward to Virgin flying between Heathrow and Scotland.
