I am a member of Families Need Fathers Scotland (FNF), who contributed to the recent conference in Glasgow ("Sexism stops fathers from seeing children", The Herald, November 20 & Letters, November 22, 24 and 26).

In my experience, women who claim victimhood in marital disputes are listened to uncritically. FNF has examples of fathers being disadvantaged in the court system because their ex-partner has made allegations that did not stand up.

As a social worker who has direct experience of children and families casework, I do not agree with Peter McLeod's assertion that social workers are even-handed when dealing with fathers and mothers. I know from personal experience this is not always what happens.
