I am astonished there has not been a bigger outcry about the disgraceful treatment of the crofters of Raasay ("Crofters lose shooting rights to outsiders", The Herald, February 21 and Letters, February 23, 25 & 26).

Maximising the return from the estate was the reason given by the Duke of Sutherland and his ilk for replacing people with sheep.

Why are MSPs of all parties not demanding action to restore to the crofters what is morally theirs?

Environment Minister Paul Wheelhouse says he was not involved. Why not? Now he is what is he going to do about it ? I am particularly saddened an SNP Government should be doing this.
