ONE wonders how the douce residents of, with all due respect, the little-known part of Aberdeen called Gilcomstoun, are feeling right now (“Peer investigated over sex and drugs video”, The Herald July 27). It may not have been weel-kent before , but it is noo, as they say.

This must be a classic example of one of the great and good illustrating the adage “do as I say, don’t do as I do”. Lord Sewel’s alleged leisure activities are so off the wall as almost requiring the suspension of disbelief. After all, he was in the House of Lords responsible for the Privileges and Conduct Committee, which upholds standards of behaviour among peers. You could not make this up.
