SIR George Reid (“Former presiding officer returns to front line in fight against Brexit”, The Herald, February 23) reminds us that "you can either whimper and whine or fight back. If you don’t fight back you’ve lost already".
While the article deals with Brexit from the Scottish perspective, Sir George's invaluable advice should be heard furth of Scotland pour encourager les autres namely the 14.6 million in England, Northern Ireland and Wales who voted to remain in the EU.
We in Scotland have much in common with those south of the Border and across the North Channel who are being called upon to take on the right-wing zealots currently occupying Westminster.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
