I have long feared the Scottish Government was going to cave in on the question of fracking and that their so-called moratorium was only a procrastination on decision-making, if not a ploy to get the nation used to the idea (The truth about fracking in Scotland, State of the nation, February 19). If so it would certainly have been a recruitment campaign for the Green Party.

Haven’t we enough sources of pollution with the oil industry, not to mention the transportation of atomic waste? Regard to health should be an absolute priority. So-called “profitable” investments would soon be swallowed up by the cost of caring for a poisoned population.
