A lump of shale rock
WHILE I understand the concerns of P Davidson (Letters, March 11), I wonder if your correspondent’s worries about pollution of our water supplies are overstated.
Perhaps Scottish Water could indicate the proportion of our domestic supplies obtained from wells vulnerable to fracking as opposed to rural run-off into reservoirs?
Given our hills and climate I would expect the latter to be the main source of water supply.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
