Alexander Good criticises the First Minister for her condemnation of the Brexit vote which she strongly believes is not in Scotland's best interests, and praises Ruth Davidson who meekly accepted the referendum result, even although, as she campaigned to Remain in the EU, Ms Davidson must also know that leaving is not in Scotland's interests (Referenda: rights and wrongs, Letters, August 6). The difference is that Nicola Sturgeon puts Scotland first, while Ruth Davidson toes whatever line is drawn by her party and her Prime Minister boss at Westminster.

Mr Good admits that at last year's EU Referendum on whether or not the UK should leave or stay in the EU, "Scotland's place in that question never crossed my mind". Clearly, it never crossed the Scottish Conservative leader Ms Davidson's mind either.
