AS a volunteer guide at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum I should like to comment on Bill Thomson's letter (May 30).

Recently it became impossible to find a space in the car park, even 30 minutes after opening time, as the spaces were occupied by people parking there but not visiting the museum. As a result many free guided tours had to be cancelled as guides could not park; this in turn led to disappointed visitors.

Unfortunately the only resolution City Parking has come up with seems to be to raise the parking charges. At least staff, volunteers and visitors may now be able to park, albeit at an "exorbitant increase".
