IT really is time to stop both the Honours List and university honorary degrees. I says this after seeing the Strictly Come Dancing "star" Susan Calman on the front page of my Herald today after her award ("Waltzing off with an honorary degree", The Herald, June 14).
She was among eight recipients who, said the principal and vice-chancellor Professor Anton Muscatelli "have achieved exceptional levels of success and have made a great contribution to their fields, not just in Scotland but also across the world". He was having a laugh, wasn't he?
For the truly outstanding Andrew Neil to be sharing this platform with her was quite amazing.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
