I READ Alison Rowat's article on the definition of being a Scot ("Listen here Scotland: just who do you think you are?", The Herald, August 9) with a smile. I suppose my case for eligibility to being a 60 years-plus Scot would be the ability to remember when our national team last made the World Cup finals; sunburn in Arran at the Glasgow Fair fortnight; the initiation delights of a fish supper at my Gran's in Shettleston and, of course, the obligatory wearing of wellies regardless of the weather.
