FURTHER to your article about the possibility of Frank de Boer becoming Rangers’ manager (“The ball’s in your court, Rangers”, Herald Sport, February 15) let’s hope we learn how to pronounce his name.

This weeky on Radio Scotland he was referred to as Frank “de Bore”.

He is not Frank de Bore, neither is he Frank de Burr or de Beurre or any other strangulated version.

Frank is from The Netherlands and the Dutch pronounce the “oe” vowel combination as oo.

So his name is pronounced “Frank de Boor” as in moor, poor or stoor.

One can only hope that if he gets the job the Scottish media will show the man some respect by pronouncing his name correctly.
