IT'S a blue do, or maybe yet another "age thing" on my part. I find that I am becoming increasingly annoyed at, and aware of, routine Blue Badge cheats. They drive into a designated disabled space, spring out of their vehicle and trot into the shopping mall with nary a badge displayed. We've all seen them. Not for them the hassle of driving around looking for a regular space like the "little people". Too important? Too lazy? Too selfish? Too fat?

Yes, I realise that some people who are entitled to a Blue Badge may be having a good day as, say, a multiple sclerosis sufferer might who has the relapsing, remitting form of the disease (on a bad day he/she would be housebound.) I assume, however, that those entitled to a Blue Badge would ensure that it was displayed. They take some getting, believe me.

I think that it is necessary for the authorities to tighten up the policing of these designated bays which frankly is shameful. A hefty fine may work where a conscience does not. Then again....

Never mind America, it seems "me first" is alive and well here too. Sad really.
