The Iranian oil installation at Kharg Island
I NOTE Struan Stevenson’s Agenda contribution ("Trump must tear up the nuclear deal with Iran", The Herald, October 9). As an Iranian, what I'd like to see is for the international community to make human rights the primary focus of their Iran policy. They shouldn't be buying Iranian oil while the regime uses the funds to pay its Revolutionary Guards to crack down on the population and also massacre the people of Syria. Good to see Mr Stevenson calling for a halt to relations with the mullahs, but not with the Iranian people.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
