Parties want mandatory jail terms for knife thugs

There are growing demands for anyone carrying a knife to face a mandatory jail term.

The Scottish Tory and Labour parties are urging Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill to bring in tough new sentences for anyone possessing a knife in public.
