Steven Pinau, the new Hibernian forward, believes he will settle so quickly that he can score more goals for the club outfit than Mixu Paatelainen, his manager.

The 20-year-old from France has agreed a one-year loan deal from Serie A outfit Genoa and could yet make his debut against Falkirk today, should international clearance come through. The Hibs manager has been tracking Pinau since April, when he sought to bring him on loan from Monaco, and now the striker is targeting his record of 40 goals.

"My early impressions are good, it's very technical here," he said. "It's different from France and Italy. Here there is energy and it's aggressive. France is pass, pass, pass, here it's get it forward quicker and I like that. Mixu scored a lot of goals and I want to score a lot of goals, more than him. He scored many, but it's possible. He will be happy if I do."

Meanwhile, Scott Arfield believes Darren Barr's call-up to the Scotland squad has boosted the hopes of every other player at Falkirk. Arfield has already been involved with the under-21s and now has renewed hope that he, too, can make the step up one day.

"It just shows you how far the gaffer has taken the club," Arfield said. "You used to look at the squads and think you would never see a Falkirk player in there. Darren has broken that and that can only be a good thing for the boys."
