The SNP has a 30% lead over Labour ahead of the 2016 Holyrood election, according to a new poll.

A YouGov poll for The Times shows the SNP are currently ahead of Labour with 51% of the vote, while Labour trail behind with 21%.

The Conservatives are set to take 19% of the vote, while the Liberal Democrats are expected to secure 5%.

The SNP, who won 56 seats in the Westminster 2015 election, launched its party conference in Aberdeen today.

The poll was carried out between October 9 and 13 2015 by YouGov for The Times.
