POTTER Street Primary School raised £78 for Red Nose Day on Friday.

Maggie Peacher, a cook in the school kitchens, said: "The children were asked to dress up in red and donate 50p. It was sea of red.

"We had a special red nose day menu, including chicken smiley faces and puzzle pieces, chips and salad.

"For desert there was strawberry jelly with a biscuit nose and fairy cakes with cherries on top.

"The three of us in the kitchen dressed up for the day and wore pants over our trousers.

"There was a special Red Nose assembly. I was in the kitchen at the time, but I could hear a lot of laughter."
