A sterling effort, but fiscal attacks can lack currency

According to Johann Lamont, Alex Salmond can't tell Scotland's pensioners which currency they will be paid in come independence.

I suspect it will be in buttons, as is traditional.

According to Ruth Davidson, meanwhile, the First Minister can't tell us how he made up the numbers before forecasting an oil boom. He should have listened instead to the "respected" Office for Budget Responsibility, she declared.
