Anti-Israel protest at Holyrood
POLICE were called in after an anti-Israel group scaled the roof of the Scottish Parliament to protest against First Minister Alex Salmond's recent meeting with the country's UK ambassador.
Around 15 members of We Are All Hana Shalabi – named after a Palestinian hunger striker – gathered while Mr Salmond was addressing MSPs at First Minister's Questions. The group has demanded a ban on future visits by Israeli ambassador Daniel Taub, who met Mr Salmond last month.
Referring to the conflict, protester Jack McGinn said: "We thought it was disgraceful that the First Minister met with the Israeli ambassador at a time like this."
