Building projects falling short on apprenticeships

SCOTLAND'S two biggest building projects, costing a combined total of £2.4 billion, have so far created fewer than 100 vocational training places and apprenticeships.

A Government update on infrastructure projects revealed the £1.6bn new Forth Crossing has generated 45 "vocational training places".

The new Southern General hospital in Glasgow – Scotland's second biggest building project costing £840 million – has created 47 apprenticeship.
