Clegg was 'juvenile' on Lords

NICK Clegg's approach to Lords reform, including his dismissal of Lord Steel's recommendations for modest change, has been dubbed juvenile by a Labour peer.

Lord Foulkes, the former Labour Scotland Office Minister, said when Mr Clegg had to announce the death of the Coalition's blueprint for reform, he was "in a terrible strop".

Lord Foulkes said it is time for a "grown-up approach" to Lords reform.

Lord Steel had put forward a Bill to introduce partial reforms to the Lords, but his party leader has dismissed his ideas out of hand.
