Ex-PM Brown earns £1.4m since moving out of No 10

Gordon Brown has earned more than £1.4 million since leaving Downing Street, with much of it going to charities and good causes, it emerged yesterday.

Like his predecessor Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister made much of the money on the international lecture circuit.

At one point he was paid almost £75,0000 to address a conference.

But his earnings are still dwarfed by those of Mr Blair, who is thought to bring in around £12m a year.
