Labour Party proposals to regulate the access businesses and private interests have to MSPs have gained the full support of the Scottish Government.

A Lobbying Transparency Bill will be drafted by the Scottish Government following preparatory work and a consultation by Labour MSP Neil Findlay.

Minister for Parliamentary Business Joe FitzPatrick pledged to build a cross-party consensus on improving the transparency of lobbying at Holyrood. He said: "The Scottish Government is now persuaded that it should put its full weight and resources behind this project."

Mr Findlay said he will monitor proceedings closely to make sure it is not "a diluted and inadequate version" of his original Member's Bill.
