Health and Social Care

The long-standing goal of ensuring effective integration between those providing health and social services for adults should become more of a reality under new legislation.

The Adult Health & Social Care Integration Bill will give legislative bite to help tackle problems such as 'bed blocking' by elderly patients, as well as duplication and gaps in services.

In particular it will include a requirement on Health Boards and local councils to integrate their budgets for adult health and social care.
