Labour calls for Allies cuts strategy

THE UK should co-ordinate defence cuts with its Allies to ensure it is not left vulnerable, Labour will say today.

The party will call for a Coalition of Cuts across NATO nations which could co-ordinate reductions in spending and changes to the structure of the forces.

Shadow defence secretary Jim Murphy will also warn the practice where countries fight conflicts together but prepare for them apart "must end".
