LibDems a 'benign' influence

THE MP in charge of Labour's policy review has described the Liberal Democrats' influence on government as benign.

Jon Cruddas, who admitted his views would be controversial with his party, backed a move towards greater co-operation between political parties.

He told a fringe meeting that the effect of the "LibDems in the government has been a benign force in terms of checking some of the worst elements in the Conservative Party."
