Miliband's blue collar pledge

ED Miliband has signalled he wants to return Labour to its working-class roots by choosing more candidates from blue-collar backgrounds.

The leader of the party – whose founding father Keir Hardie, the son of a ship's carpenter and a domestic servant, was born in a one-roomed cottage in North Lanarkshire – said Parliament has become too middle class and lacked diversity.
