New triple-dip fears

Manufacturing output unexpectedly fell by a further 0.3% in November and broader industrial production showed only weak growth, according to the latest official figures.

The bad news came despite the biggest month-on-month leap in oil and gas extraction since 1968, after a key North Sea field re-started production.
