Opposition demand Russell apology over slur

OPPOSITION parties have demanded an apology from Education Secretary Michael Russell after he branded them anti-Scottish for criticising cuts to college budgets.

Labour spokesman Hugh Henry hit out at his "arrogance" and "intolerance" after Mr Russell accused the "Tory-Labour alliance" at Holyrood of hypocrisy, scaremongering and the exploitation of college students and principals.

Mr Russell also claimed the "unholy coalition" was "trying to destroy Scottish education".
