PM joins ranks of 'twitterati'

DAVID Cameron has finally succumbed.

The Prime Minister has joined the ranks of the twitterati, sending out tweets on No 10's Twitter feed.

He once said that he would steer clear of the social network website, which allows users to send out messages in up to 140 characters, famously pointing out that he was worried "too many tweets make a twat".

Downing Street has been sending out quotes in Mr Cameron's name. On the first day of conference, the PM launched a personal account at @David_Cameron.

In his first message, he jokingly recalled his previous reluctance to tweet, saying: "I'm starting Conference with this new Twitter feed about my role as Conservative Leader. I promise there won't be 'too many tweets...'"
