PM's pledge 'must be ignored'

VETERAN SNP campaigner Winnie Ewing has warned Scots not to gulled by empty promises from Prime Minister David Cameron.

Mrs Ewing, 83, said the lessons of history showed Scotland should not be fooled by the offer made by Mr Cameron in Edinburgh last week of more devolved powers if they rejected independence.

She said it reminded her of "the scandal of 1979 when Scotland was cheated out of a parliament".
