Police ask Government for support on pensions

THE police are asking the Scottish Government to spurn pension changes planned for their colleagues south of the Border, and are seeking cross-party support for their stance.

The Scottish Police Federation has written to parliamentarians seeking backing for its campaign, and the terms of its approach have been welcomed by the SNP as "a huge vote of confidence in the Scottish Government".
