Spelman age 'not a problem'

THE fall-out to David Cameron's reshuffle continued last night with No 10 denying the Prime Minister had sacked Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman because she was too old.

Earlier in the day, Mr Cameron was forced to deny he had reduced to tears Ms Spelman and Cheryl Gillan, who was sacked as Welsh Secretary.

"No, that's not true actually," he insisted, noting how with 300 Tory MPs it was "important to bring new people on and bring new people in, so you have to let some people go".
