AN undersea electricity grid connecting Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland could provide "enormous economic opportunities", Finance Secretary John Swinney has claimed.

He said the project paved the way to allowing Scotland to harvest wind and tidal resources and develop the country’s potential to export electricity and bring in revenue.
Mr Swinney was speaking in Glasgow at the launch of a report by the Irish-Scottish Links on Energy Study (ISLES).
