A TIMETABLE for new laws to support victims and witnesses of crime will be set out after Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill bowed to pressure.
Labour, while supporting proposals in the Government's Victims and Witnesses Bill, questioned the scale and pace of the changes.
Mr MacAskill will now advance his plans, which include proposals such as offenders paying towards the cost of supporting victims and the payment of compensation in every case where someone has suffered injury, loss or distress.
