WHAT DO THE VOTERS THINK?

On the High Street in Dunfermline, David Brown, a born-again Christian, is handing out leaflets inviting those browsing a string of European market stalls that make the town look like Bruges, to attend his church.

He has heard the stories about disgraced MSP Bill Walker, and he pauses his iPod to give his considered thoughts on the matter.

"People who take public office should have integrity and they're accountable to the people. Where their personal life impinges on their public life then they ought to be disciplined or there ought to be repercussions. There has to be a degree of moral character in the nation, and it should be there in those that lead. If you put yourself up for public office, you should be exemplary. I'm not saying perfect, just exemplary," he says.
