Call to halt green power plans

THE rapid expansion of wind power across Scotland should be halted urgently if the country becomes independent, a former SNP leader warned.

Gordon Wilson said there was no guarantee the UK would buy expensively produced green power from an independent Scotland and the country already had enough wind farms for its own needs.

His comments contradict SNP plans to boost the Scottish economy with a "renewables revolution".
