SNP in disclosure appeal

THE row over whether the Scottish Government should disclose if it holds legal advice on an independent Scotland's membership of the European Union is likely to continue for months, after it appealed a decision by the Information Commissioner.

Yesterday was the deadline for the SNP to comply with a ruling, made last month, stating that it was "in the public interest to know the type of information that the ministers were taking into account in developing policy in relation to such a significant issue as independence".
