THE large number of grass-roots Yes groups that have sprung up as part of the referendum campaign are to hold daily press conferences from tomorrow until September 18 in a bid to remind the media that the vote is about more than the SNP and party politics.

The Scottish Independence Convention, National Collective, Common Weal, Women for Independence, Generation Yes and the Radical Independence Campaign are among the 20-plus groups taking part in the final month before polling.

The first week's events will take place at the CCA in Glasgow, before shifting to a "media village" being erected near Holyrood.
